Howard J. Bernstein has extensive experience in handling social security disability and long term disability claims and has helped thousands of clients obtain their disability benefits.  Mr. Bernstein has a thorough understanding of the inner workings of the Social Security Administration as well as the state and federal laws that govern private long term disability insurance policies.  He is well versed in the various medical conditions that render an individual unable to work.  Mr. Bernstein has handled social security disability claims throughout the country.  He has also represented clients in numerous lawsuits against long-term disability insurance carriers such as UNUM, CIGNA, CNA, The Hartford, Prudential Insurance, and MetLife.  He has also successfully handled long-term disability claims at the administrative level where claimants were put back on claim without the need to file a lawsuit.

Prior to starting his own law firm, Mr. Bernstein was the managing partner of the disability division of a large personal injury firm.  Mr. Bernstein is admitted to practice in the following jurisdictions: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. He is also a member of the National Organization of Social Security Representatives (NOSSCR).  Mr. Bernstein obtained his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Maryland at College Park and received his law degree at the District of Columbia School of Law.
