The Disability Hearing

Philadelphia Social Security Disability Claims Lawyer

It is important that you have an attorney represent you at your social security disability hearing.  This will be the only chance you get to tell your story in person to a judge.   If you have a hearing scheduled, or are waiting for a determination by the Social Security Administration, we recommend that you consult with a Philadelphia Social Security Disability Lawyer at The Bernstein Law Offices to discuss your claim as soon as possible.

What happens at a Disability Hearing?

During the Social Security Disability hearingyou will have the opportunity to present your case to the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ).   The ALJ will ask you various questions about your daily activities, work history and medical history.  Your attorney will also have the opportunity to ask you questions as they relate to your medical condition.  A vocational expert is typically present at your hearing and sometimes a medical expert is present as well.  The vocational expert is available to the judge to render an opinion about your past relevant work experience, and any jobs that exist in the national economy that you may be qualified to perform based upon your age, work experience, and education.  If a medical expert is at the Hearing, he or she will give an opinion about the medical issues of your case.  Having an experienced attorney at your side during a disability hearing is crucial in determinig the outcome of your claim.

Contact the Philadelphia Social Security Disability Lawyer at the firm if you need representation or assistance with a Disability Hearing.
